AFCFP Board Member Meets with Pope Francis

This past weekend, AFCFP board member and CfP activist, Aziz Abu Sarah, along with our friend, activist Maoz Inon, met with Pope Francis in Verona, Italy. Aziz and Maoz shared their vision of peace with Pope Francis and with a crowd of 13,000 people.

Embracing each other as they spoke, Aziz and Maoz read a line of a poem – in Hebrew and in Arabic – before introducing themselves. They shared, "We are entrepreneurs, and we believe that peace is the greatest feat to be achieved...There can be no peace without an economy of peace. An economy that does not kill. An economy of justice." Read more here.

Aziz and Maoz presented His Holiness Pope Francis with a letter from more than 250 peacebuilding organizations, including Combatants for Peace, calling on leaders to prioritize civil society peacebuilding at the G7 Summit in Italy next month.
