Book publications include: Political Obligation in A Liberal State, How the Liberal Arts Can Save Liberal Democracy, and Political Theory, Political Thinking and Civil Society.

In addition to a robust academic writing and teaching career, he has held various major administrative roles. Also, he has taught in the Political Science Department at Sonoma State University in California. Among his publications include books such as Political Obligation in A Liberal State, How the Liberal Arts Can Save Liberal Democracy, and his now about to appear in its 5th edition, Political Theory, Political Thinking and Civil Society. This book has been translated into Arabic over the past four editions. Moreover, he has authored papers in leading journals of his profession. He has worked throughout his life, in numerous settings, on behalf of social justice, and he sees Combatants for Peace as a perfect vehicle for advancing this agenda on behalf of Palestinians and Israelis who are dedicated to achieving a just peace in the region.
