Gordon Lafer

Professor at University of Oregon's Labor Education & Research Center

Gordon Lafer is a Research Associate with the Economic Policy Institute in Washington, DC.

Lafer has written widely about economic and employment policy and has worked with a wide variety of labor unions. He holds a PhD in Political Science from Yale University and is co-founder of the American Political Science Association’s Labor Project.  At the start of the Obama administration, Lafer was on leave from his university serving as Senior Policy Advisor for the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Education and Labor.  Lafer also serves on the Board of the Shalom Hartman Institute and on the Advisory Board of the Social Economic Academy in Tel Aviv.
