Empower the Movement this #GivingTuesday
Dear friend,
This #GivingTuesday, we ask you to stand in solidarity with CfP through your generosity and we share this testament to the work you make possible.
On October 25th, in the village of Battir, west of Bethlehem, a day meant for peace and community turned into a scene of injustice. When CfP activists joined Palestinian farmers to harvest olives in the face of settler threats, they were violently confronted by Israeli soldiers. The soldiers attacked with sound bombs, pushed and dragged the participants, and arrested four peace activists. Ghassan, a Palestinian owner of the grove, expressed his anguish: “We have documents proving our ownership, but the settlers and the army forced us to leave. The army claimed the expulsion was due to the presence of activists and media because they want to isolate us.”
Jamil Qassas, CfP's Palestinian coordinator, shared: "We are here to provide assistance to the Palestinian landowners and strengthen their steadfastness. We will continue nonviolent resistance against the occupation everywhere until this occupation ends."
Olive trees are a lifeline for over 100,000 Palestinian families, with olive oil accounting for 19% of total their agricultural production. Determined to ensure the harvest could proceed, CfP returned to Battir two more times in November. Click here to watch a video of the harvest in action and a message from CfP co-founder, Souli Khatib.
Each act of resistance, each olive picked supports Palestinians to remain on their lands and protects a future of just peace for all.
During the first harvest, Israeli CfP activist Iris Gur (pictured below) was attacked by a young soldier. Knowing the power of personal stories, she wrote this letter to the soldier's mother:
As you read this, countless dollars are fueling war, separation, and oppression—forces that seek to dehumanize, control, and profit from suffering. Countless dollars are fueling the dispossession and expropriation of Palestinians' land—threatening a shared future of dignity and human rights. But every dollar we invest in just peace moves us toward a future where solidarity and unity dismantle division and violence. In the face of injustice, the growing CfP movement is carving out another way and they need your help to forge forward.
This #GivingTuesday, with the goal of raising $12,250, will you give to grow the movement? Your donation is more than a contribution—it’s a stand against oppression, it is a voice for just peace, it is an act of collective resolve and hope.
We stand together as those who believe in the power of nonviolence to render force and oppression irrelevant. Together, as we take action for a future of mutual flourishing, we will make that future inevitable.
