Welcoming New Leadership!

Combatants for Peace and American Friends of Combatants for Peace are proud to welcome new leadership this month!

In Israel/Palestine, we welcome our new Palestinian Director:

Sulaiman Khatib, Combatants for Peace co-founder, spent 10.5 years in jail in his youth before becoming a local leader of nonviolent resistance. He was the general coordinator of Combatants for Peace before becoming co-director. We are excited to welcome him in his new leadership role.

In the USA we welcome three new Members to our Board of Directors:

Aziz Abu Sarah, entrepreneur, speaker, peace builder and author. Aziz is the founder of Mejdi Tours, a cultural exploration vehicle for an ever-changing travel market. He was the first Palestinian to run for Mayor of Jerusalem.

Alan Feldman, a teacher and educational researcher. Alan has helped develop models for student research that connect classrooms across the country and across the world.

Gili Getz, photojournalist, actor and activist. Gili Getz served as a military photographer for the Israeli army and as a news editor for Ynet. His work in recent years has been focusing on American Jewish political activism and he is published regularly in Jewish and Israeli press.

And two new Advisory Board members!

Peter Yarrow, award winning musician and social activist. Peter was part of the musical group, “Peter, Paul and Mary” and recorded  some of the greatest musical hits of all time including, “Leaving on a Jet-Plane” and “Blowin’ in the Wind.”

Rawan Odeh, Managing Director of New Story Leadership, a young adult leadership program, bringing youths from Palestine and Israel to intern in the halls of Congress.
