Luma is a creative strategist who applies a design thinking approach of problem solving to her work. Based on this approach, she develops research, strategies, and implementation programs for her clients.
In addition, she facilitates a range of customisable workshops in which participants gain a greater understanding of the process, practical knowledge of the tools, and insight to the opportunities it offers for innovation.
Luma grew up shuttling between California, where she was born, and Kuwait, where she is from. This instilled in her a deep understanding of Eastern and Western cultures, their nuances, and how they impact each other. This understanding is evident in both her work and aspirations, as well as by the cultural sensitivity of her interactions. After almost a decade of professional experience in New York, she moved to Dubai in 2010 to be a part of the creative development of the region.
Luma believes that the construct of design has the power to increasingly influences our interconnected world, shaping perspectives and shifting cultures. Her career has been focused on challenging norms, transforming perceptions, & striving for impactful design systems that nurture growth and development.
Her clients vary across a wide range of industries including American Express, the World Government Summit, Sony, Dubai Culture, Emirates National Oil, TDIC Abu Dhabi, Mubadala, Qatar Museums Authority, and Abdul Latif Jamil Communities to name a few.
