Susan Linfield

Susie Linfield, writes about the intersections of culture and politics for a wide array of publications, including the New York Times, Dissent, The Nation, Guernica, the Boston Review, and the New Republic.

Her first book, The Cruel Radiance: Photography and Political Violence (University of Chicago Press, 2010) was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in Criticism. Her most recent book, The Lions’ Den: Zionism and the Left from Hannah Arendt to Noam Chomsky (Yale University Press, 2019) was a co-winner of the Natan Book Award. She was born and raised in New York City and currently lives in Brooklyn.
